On the eastern edge of Queens’ borough bordering Nassau County, Bellerose primarily offers detached Colonial and Cape Cod style homes and a perfect combination between city and suburb. Bellerose is known to be a family oriented community with a great school district, several parks and playgrounds for the children to roam around in and the near by Queens County Farm Museum to bring a piece of agricultural history right into the crux of the city.
One of Bellerose’s greatest features is it’s proximity to the Belmont Racetrack. Spending a Sunday betting on horses and basking in the sun with the family at the Track is great way to unwind from the stresses of work and it’s in Bellerose’s backyard, just over the border in Elmont.
Whether you’re buying fresh vegetables at the Farm Museum in Floral Park or bringing your child to a Little League Baseball game in Queens Village, Bellerose is a great place to raise a child. Not only is it conveniently located as a halfway point between some of the best recreational destinations in Queens, but it’s also a short commute from New York City.
There are no subway or train stations in Bellerose, but with a 10 minute drive to the Douglaston, Bayside or Little Neck stops along the Port Washington LIRR line, your entire commute will have you in Midtown Manhattan in under 40 minutes. If you prefer a bus, there is an express service, the X86, that leaves from Bellerose Station. The Cross Island Parkway also surrounds Bellerose, which is easy to forget since it’s a quiet area in the heart of a bustling city.
With a large Indian-American and European-American population, Bellerose exemplifies the diversity New York City is so well known for. Any number of restaurants along Braddock and Hillside Avenues serves anything from New York Style Pizza to Chinese Food, Sushi or traditional Indian cuisine.
The larger homes of Bellerose can be found between Commonwealth Boulevard and Little Neck Parkway and primarily consist of homeowner occupied Tudors. However, attached homes, apartments and condos are also available to cater to the needs of all kinds of buyers and renters.
