I believe you need to strike a balance between work and your private life. I enjoy going to Long Island's State Parks, whether it's to explore or take a walk on the beach or to just experience what nature has to offer. The parks I go to regularly are Jones Beach, Robert Moses, Captree, Planting Fields Arboretum, Sands Point Preserve. Other parks such as Morgan Park in Glen Cove, Old Westbury Gardens and Caleb Smith State Park in Smithtown are also 'Go To' Parks.
My Wife and I enjoy Kayaking in Manhasset Bay Waters in Port Washington, weather permitting. I also fish in these same waters for fish such as Flounder, Bluefish and Striped Bass. Walkng through the towns of Port Washington and Manorhaven is one of our favorite activities on a Saturday or Sunday. We frequently walk along Sheets Creek and end up at the town Dock or up along Main Street. Sitting on a bench in Sunset Park during the warmer weather sipping on Iced Coffee is a 'Treasured Moment'.
There are too many restaurants, stores and neighborhood events to list that my wife and I ienjoy going to in Port Washington and the surrounding towns of Manhasset, Plandome and Sands Point.
What I like best about where I live is the vibrancy of the local people, year-long events, the restaurants and stores, and mostly, The Waterfront.
