Mary Stanco, an expert in the Residential Real Estate markets brings her extensive expertise in Short Sales and her work with home owners looking for alternatives to bankruptcy or foreclosure, to the Laffey Organization.

Mary focuses on providing assistance to buyers and sellers who are trying to navigate complex REO & Short Sale transactions and the demand for her professionalism and knowledge with distressed property sales continues to grow. According to a recent NAR (National Association of Realtors) survey, nearly one-third of all existing homes sold recently were either short sales or foreclosures. A short sale occurs when the net proceeds for the sale of a home are not enough to cover the seller’s mortgage obligations and closing costs, and the seller is unable to cover the difference. A short sale is one way to relieve the financial strain on families due to changes in the housing market.

A lifelong resident of Glen Cove, Mary earned her BA in Business Management from Briarcliffe College and maintains the core of her real estate business along the Gold Coast North Shore. Stanco maintains a diverse background in real estate, advertising, customer service, mortgage financing and the short sale/foreclosure markets.

Her professional licenses, designations and affiliations are extensive including RSSP (Real Estate Short Sale Specialist) to CBR (Certified Buyers Representative) and CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist. Mary is also active in Glen Cove’s multiple Community Organizations including Glen Cove’s National Nite Out, Seniors Day, Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce (current President), Rotary International and Sons of Italy Loggia 1016. Mary’s also an active member of many professional organizations including LIBOR (Long Island Board of Realtors), REBAC (Real Estate Buyers’ Agents Council) and WCR (Women’s Council of Realtors) to name a few.
