Our REALTORS® want to invite you to celebrate the beauty of the natural world in Oyster Bay. Arbor Day is coming, and it's the perfect time to appreciate the outdoors.
Oyster Bay homes for sale are situated within a beautiful landscape that incorporates green spaces making full use of gorgeous its surrounding Long Island real estate. Although Oyster Bay is home to more than 294,000 people, its many trees give it a relaxed air.
Not surprisingly, the Oyster By community recognizes and protects its natural heritage. When Arbor Day arrives on April 27, people come out to celebrate and to plant trees for the next generation.
It's the Arbor Day Family Festival, and it's an event you won't want to miss.
Not all towns and cities have Arbor Day observances, but Oyster Bay's is one of the biggest around. It centers on Coe Hall Historic House Museum, situated in a preserved building from 1917.
Coe Hall includes greenhouses and a garden, and the associated park is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Christmas. However, the Hall itself doesn't open for the season until Arbor Day beckons in the second half of April.
When the Hall starts welcoming guests, the Arbor Day Family Festival is just around the corner: It takes place on April 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. right in the Planting Fields Arboretum. The Arboretum is part of the Coe Hall complex managed by nonprofit Planting Fields Foundation.
Live music with Johnny Herbert will provide the soundtrack, and there'll be tree seedling giveaways for guests. Visitors of all ages will thrill to a variety of attractions: Everyone can enjoy the garden tour, and there'll be a guided Children's Tree Climb by Wonderland Tree Care.
Smokey Bear will be one of the guests of honor, with free admission to see him or to wander Coe Hall at will. For the more artistically inclined children, watercolor demonstrations will be held around the grounds of Planting Fields Park. There is something for everyone!
In keeping with the spirit of Arbor Day, tree plantings will also take place.
Remember, Planting Fields is a full-fledged state park that spans more than 400 acres. Located right in Oyster Bay, it's one of the top state parks in the entire New York system. You'll be able to explore at your leisure both before and after the Arbor Day Family Festival.
If you want to plant a seed for a better tomorrow, it all begins with the right real estate agent.
