Laffey Real Estate #followstheorange but October is Pink in support of breast cancer awareness. The firm recognizes Edith E. Katz, Nurse Educator and Licensed Real Estate Associate Broker, and the Lani Hopp Hadassah in this year's drive to encourage early detection and prevention.
"We encourage family members and friends to unite in the fight against breast cancer not just now but all throughout the year", explained Katz. "This event stresses the importance of good personal health through knowledge and action." The event is for all women 18 years of age and older. Breast cancer continues to be one of the leading health crises for women in the United States. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Laffey Real Estate supports the efforts of Edie and the many volunteers who are helping spread the word about early detection. Knowing that cancer touches the lives of all Americans, the focus on supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. to advocate attention both men's and women's breast cancer awareness is the firm's goal.
For more than 25 years, Mrs. Katz has shared her knowledge with school aged girls and young women, instructing them on how to self examine, recognize the early warning signs and learn about how to get help. Come down to the Port Washington Library tonight and learn how you can help save a life.
Tonight's program for Breast Cancer Awareness begins at 7:30 pm at the Port Washington Library, 1 Library Drive in Port Washington. Join nurse educator Edie Katz and two Hadassah volunteers for a short film screening and presentation.
