Spring is a great time to enjoy fresh seafood, from oysters and crabs to a wide variety of seasonal favorites. There are plenty of places on Long Island for fresh, delicious seafood, and our real estate agents know all the best spots. Here are a few of our favorites.
All the food at Bigelow's New England Fried Clams is artfully prepared using only the freshest ingredients. A pillar of Long Island since 1939, they specialize in New England-style seafood, like their Famous Ipswich Clams. They also have a variety of other fried shellfish, including:
And their fresh crab cakes, made with real, lump crab meat, are second to none. Plus, try their chowders: the white, creamy New England-style; the red, brothy Manhattan-style; or the Long Island-style, which blends both. Open Tuesday through Sunday near Rockville Centre homes for sale, it's a seafood experience you won't soon forget.
The seafood at Schultzy's Restaurant is "bay-to-table," freshly caught and beautifully prepared. Their raw bar has oysters and clams caught that morning. And be sure to try their grilled octopus. Located near Bayville homes for sale, they also do catering, serving anywhere from 20 to 300 people with Schultzy's Famous Clambake.
If you like dinner with a beautiful, waterfront view, head to Louie's Prime Steak & Seafood. Their seafood is fresh-caught, and their steaks are dry-aged for 38 days. They also serve handcrafted sushi rolls, like the Hampton with Maine Lobster, shrimp, and spicy kani, or the Komodo with spicy salmon, eel sauce, and wasabi aioli. Or get it by the piece, including:
You can enjoy it on the patio while watching the sunset over the Manhattan skyline. Located near Port Washington homes for sale, come Thursday evenings for half-priced martinis, cocktails, and sushi at the bar.
If you like fine dining and gorgeous views, head to The LakeHouse. There's a deck overlooking the bay, plus two lounges, where they serve incredible seafood. Try their grilled oysters with bourbon butter and parmesan breadcrumbs, or the mustard-rye-crusted Scottish salmon filet with pinot noir butter and celery root puree. Or go for brunch and get the grilled shrimp salad with ruby-red grapefruit, hearts of palm, and blood-orange vinaigrette. Open noon-2:30 p.m. for lunch or 4-10 p.m. for dinner. Be sure to call in your reservation in advance.
Beneath the casual, laid-back atmosphere at Sandbar is some of the best seafood you'll have in the area. Named one of FourLeaf's "Best of Long Island 2026," this cozy spot has an inviting coastal vibe and a carefully crafted menu from Chef Emeritus Guy Reuge. Enjoy:
Open Monday through Saturday noon-10 p.m., and Sundays until 9 p.m., the space is also available for private events and catering.
