On Saturday, November 23, the 10th annual Massapequa Park Turkey Trot offers a chance to run to raise money for a great cause. The race benefits the YES Community Counseling Center and its mission to increase awareness, prevent and treat drug use and abuse. Arrive at Brady Park between 7 and 8:30 am for check-in and registration, followed by the 8:30 am Youth Fun Run and 9:00 am 5K Run/Walk. Brady Park is a lovely green space just minutes from Nassau County homes for sale.
- Long Beach City Council Turkey Trot - 735 W. Broadway, Long Beach, NY 11561
With an all-ages 10K as well as a 1-mile run for those 17 and under, the Long Beach City Council Turkey Trot is a great opportunity for the whole family to hit the pavement this fall. The race takes place on the morning of Sunday, November 24, and registration will remain open until the day before the event. The Turkey Trot follows a picturesque course through the streets of the village, beginning at the Long Beach Catholic Regional School, right a stone's throw from these Long Beach homes for sale.

Organized annually to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Massapequa Turkey Trot returns to Nassau County on Thanksgiving morning this year. All are invited to run or walk for the event, which raised $34,000 last year. The 5K kicks off at 9 am, right after the Kids' Fun Run, at John Burns Park, near many Massapequa homes for sale. As always, all participants are invited to wear their finest Thanksgiving-themed costumes!

Another great Thanksgiving Day run, the Oyster Bay Turkey Trot returns to Nassau County once again this year. This fun 5K run/walk is open to everyone and takes off through the streets of Oyster Bay at 9:30 am. Registration and check-in is at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School, right around the corner from these Oyster Bay homes for sale. Free t-shirts are given to the first 750 entrants, and top prizes go to the top three male and female finishers.

If you want something a little more challenging than your typical 5K, then the Port Washington Thanksgiving Day 5-Mile Run might be just what you're looking for. Now in its 44th year, this is one of the most popular and longest-running Thanksgiving Day races on Long Island, and proceeds benefit the Community Chest of Port Washington, a 501c3 charitable organization. Beginning at Manorhaven Beach, the 5-mile loop meanders through four picturesque villages and offers a glimpse at some truly beautiful Port Washington homes for sale.
