For many of us, coffee is the elixir of life. It's hard to start the day without it. And October 1st is International Coffee Day. What better way to celebrate than by enjoying a cup at your favorite coffee shop? Of course, this can be more difficult if you've just moved to a new area. Our real estate agents can help you find the perfect house, but where are the coffee shops nearby? We've got you covered. Here are our picks for the best places in Long Island to stop for coffee on October 1st.

  • Bean Coffee House - 17 Fire Island Ave., Babylon, NY 11702
Located near Babylon homes for sale, Bean Coffee House imports coffee beans from all over the world. That includes French Roast, Sumatra Mandheling, Columbia Supremo, Ethiopia Longberry Harrar, and many others. All their coffee is fair trade and delicious. If you're a coffee fan who appreciates the nuances of different varieties, this is the place for you.

  • Jack Jack's Coffee House - 223 Deer Park Ave., Babylon, NY 11702

Also near Babylon homes for sale, their espresso bar includes macchiatos, cappuccinos, and affogatos, as well as espresso shakes, floats, and more. They also have a great selection of lattes, teas, smoothies, sandwiches, and wraps.

  • Crazy Beans - 97 Main St., Stony Brook Village Center, NY 11790
Family-owned and operated since 2013, Crazy Beans is a great place to get coffee near Stony Brook homes for sale. They serve Columbian, French Roast, and Hawaiian Coconut, plus a wide array of lattes, like blueberry or toasted marshmallow. They also have a full menu of sandwiches, burgers, eggs, French toast, and more. It's the perfect place to sit down and enjoy coffee and breakfast.

  • Druthers Coffee - 1113 N. Country Rd. Building 5, Stony Brook, NY 11790
Also in Stony Brook, Druthers Coffee prides itself on its espresso drinks. If you're looking for coffee in the evening, this is the place. On Fridays and Saturdays, they have After Hours from 5-9 pm, and they offer coffee, tea, cocktails, and a wide variety of baked goods. It's a great place to hang out with friends for coffee after work.

  • Flux Coffee - 211 Main St., Farmingdale, NY 11735

They sell not just coffee but grinders, Chemexes, mugs, and all the paraphernalia that a true coffee lover needs to enjoy fresh, delicious coffee in their own home.

  • Georgio's Coffee - 1965 New Hwy, Farmingdale, NY 11735
Georgio's Coffee has been in business for over 35 years, and it's safe to say they've perfected their craft. The owners have traveled the world, found the best coffee, and imported it back to Long Island to sell it to you. They also have an online store, but for the full experience, you need to visit the shop. The iced coffee is even made with frozen coffee cubes to preserve the flavor and not dilute the drink.
