Remember when Mom said breakfast was the most important meal of the day? Make her proud by celebrating February as National Hot Breakfast Month. Have fun exploring these wonderful breakfast restaurants around Long Island, recommended by our real estate agents.

  1. Marie Blachére - 550 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, NY 11023
Marie Blachére is just as charming and European as it sounds. In 2004, Bernard Blachére opened his first bakery and cafe in Provence and named it after his daughter. After growing to more than 600 locations in France, Bernard brought his successful restaurant stateside with a location near Great Neck homes for sale. Their lineup of mouthwatering pastries includes croissants, Linzer cookies, and Madeleines. Be sure to check out the pizzas, quiches, salads, and baguette sandwiches for an easy lunch to go. Hours are 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily.

  2.  Majestic Diner - 498 Old Country R, Westbury, NY 11590
Majestic Diner, just down the street from Westbury homes for sale, is an updated version of the classic American eatery where you can get breakfast all day. The menu lists two full pages of breakfast dishes, so you're sure to find your favorite or maybe discover a new one. Choices include two dozen types of omelets, 13 varieties of pancakes, and six versions of eggs Benedict. One section is devoted to Latin and Caribbean specialties such as Cajun shrimp & grits and huevos rancheros. Majestic Diner is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m., with extended hours until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

  3. Diane's Bakery Cafe - 23 Bryant Ave., Roslyn, NY 11576
Who says you can't start the day with dessert? Each day, Diane's Bakery Cafe features a fresh assortment of pies, tarts, cookies, muffins, and scones. If you prefer something savory, Diane's has more than 20 varieties of sales, including kale, Mediterranean, and baked teriyaki salmon. Have a weekend meetup with friends and dine on egg wraps, sweet potato biscuit sandwiches, and challah French toast. Diane's makes a perfect stop during a day of viewing Roslyn homes for sale. Cafe hours are 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, with extended hours for the bakery.

  4. Port Washington Diner - 41 Main St., Port Washington, NY 11050
Planning a leisurely breakfast with the family? Port Washington Diner bills themselves as, "A Dining Tradition Reborn." Kids love the assortment of pancakes, waffles, and French toast topped with fruit, whipped cream, and nuts. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad have their choice of corned beef hash, omelets, cheese blintzes, and other hearty dishes. Don't forget to ask about the daily selection of fresh baked goods. Grab a cappuccino or espresso from the coffee bar to go as you head out to look at Port Washington homes for sale

  5. Sweet Tomato - 91 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay, NY 11771
It's fitting that Sweet Tomato is in a farmhouse-style building only minutes away from Oyster Bay homes for sale. Sweet Tomato specializes in handheld items you can enjoy in the restaurant or on the go. Breakfast favorites include appropriately named Hungry Man/Woman, a wrap filled with eggs, cheese, and two choices of meat. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available for those with special dietary preferences. Customers appreciate that, even with the extensive menu, the staff is happy to accommodate customized orders. Sweet Tomato is open 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily except Sunday, when doors close at 4:30 p.m.
